Who are UHUK?

UHUK (formerly Urgent Health UK) is a partnership of non-profit and social enterprise healthcare providers and entrepreneurs serving over 55% of the UK population.

Their members provide an extensive and diverse range of clinically led and system critical Urgent Primary Care services, including but not limited to: 111, GP Out of Hours, Integrated Urgent Care Dental and Mental Health Services, Urgent Treatment Centres, Clinical Assessment Hubs, Emergency Dept Streaming and Primary Care Walk in Centres.

About the programme

This programme between WMHWIN and UHUK is a first-of-a-kind partnership to deliver innovation in urgent health. It uses WMHWIN’s Open Innovation Programme method to solve challenges and maximise opportunities at scale for a consortia of 12 UHUK organisations. Tailored to innovators who have solutions to urgent health challenges to validate their products and services with a full marketplace of urgent health delivery partners.

          Aligned to our strategic aims, the programme is proving to be a strong model that brings together innovation and collaboration.  It is already beginning to show the far-reaching value a combined approach to digital healthcare can bring.  Our collective expertise will realise benefits for patient populations – improving access to integrated urgent healthcare and supporting a better patient experience.  The programme also gives an equal focus to efficient ways of working for our people, enabling them to focus on healthcare delivery through a different approach that makes the most of digital and technological advances.
