500 innovators at Leamington Spa’s 1 Mill Street thanks to University of Warwick, BT & Warwickshire County Council

Ten new businesses will be the first to benefit from a new Creative Futures Incubator in Leamington Spa’s Creative District that will help those businesses become part of the UK’s largest creative cluster outside Greater London. The project, which will also work with 500 innovators, will help business teams develop their entrepreneurial skills, test, launch and pitch their business ideas, and get 6 months of free space and support to develop their creative enterprises in 1 Mill Street in Leamington Spa.

Hi, I’m Beth.

Hi, I’m Don.

We are Common Story, a content creation company, telling great stories through films and documentaries.

In six months’ time, we want to be producing content in collaboration with local groups and organizations and be a platform for unheard voices.

For us, being part of the Creative Futures Incubator is an incredible opportunity to forge links with the local community, get tailored mentoring and support, and to have a space where we can work together.

And it’s got us sharing as well.

Common Story – Content creation, telling great stories through films and documentaries.

Hi everybody, I’m Matt.

I’m Jonathan

and we are two of the five co-founders of Icicle, a sustainable eyewear brand.

We are currently producing our parts in India and checking in with our social impact in that same place.

What it takes to fulfill our delivery means that we finally deliver our products from our successful Kickstarter at the beginning of this year.

In the next six months, we really plan to scale up our business and sell over 2,000 glasses to consumers that think as sustainably as we do, and also we plan to supply five large corporations with glasses for their employees.

The Creative Futures Incubator quite literally grants us a lot of space to think creatively, to get the team together in one room in our office, to make new friends just as much as build new business partnerships with people that are also in the space, and also grow our network beyond the University of Warwick.

Icycle – A social enterprise initiative, Icycle is on a journey to promote eyewear produced via communal plastic recycling.

The University of Warwick is focused on uncovering endless possibilities. For our students. For our academics. For the world. For more about the Creative Futures Incubator and the exciting opportunities available to you.
