Deep Tech has moved firmly into the mainstream.

Through our six-month programme at Warwick Innovation District’s Deep Tech Innovation Centre, we’ve helped more than 70 founders build their businesses, across sectors from medtech to fintech and beyond. A significant number have since secured funding and landed new customers.

Find out from our founders how we help Deep Tech entrepreneurs succeed…

Read what they said here…

Michael Hobbs, founder of Reputable.bot:
Now is a fantastic time to be building things. We have so much technology at our disposal.

David Plumb, Chief Innovation Officer, University of Warwick:

At the University of Warwick, we are world leaders in research and that’s fantastic for deep tech founders.

Dr. Kristina Curtis, founder of Applied Behaviour Change:
One of the advantages of being small is you can be much more agile and innovative. Larger companies are going to smaller startups and businesses for ideas for their innovations. And so it’s really really crucial that we have programs like these that actually help small businesses.

David Plumb:
Which is why it’s really exciting to have our Deep Tech Innovation Centre as one of our key themes.

Dr. Kristina Curtis:
AI is a leveller, but actually having people from different disciplines that are working on different elements of AI has been really really important. Thinking about things that you hadn’t necessarily considered before. So, it might be someone’s focusing more on the ethics of AI, someone might be focused more on the safety of AI.

David Plumb:
So, bringing together our network of connections, our trusted partners, we can help you think about your business model, test your idea and get to market quickly.

Jatin Lealh, founder of RedPill Verify:
And for us that has enabled access to MBA students, MSE students running research for us. And that has been truly exceptional.

Dr. Kristina Curtis:
Hi, I’m Dr. Kristina Curtis and I’m founder of Applied Behaviour Change. So, a lot of my work has really focused on working with organisations and particularly public health organisations, to support them to really understand what’s driving behaviours and we’ve now developed a platform that helps them do that, and helps them do that quickly. So, you’ve got a low uptake of childhood vaccinations. We’re able to scrape data, what people are talking about online. We map it to behaviour change models and we will give you those insights rapidly to understand what are the key barriers, to uptake of a childhood vaccination.

Michael Hobbs:
Reputable.bot is a system for testing chatbots at scale across many many different human psychology. So, we effectively simulate humans and look at how the chatbot responds to them. It’s based on the idea that chat bots have to serve us all well irrespective of what sort of psychological attributes we might have.

Charlie Swan, founder of Sorbit:
I’m Charlie Swan, the founder of Sorbit, which is what we call the future of learning where we democratise education through AI. Most people use AI as a crutch, you know, to minimise their learning while maximising outcomes. We flip that narrative and use AI as the tool to test people and improve their learning experiences.

Dev Mukherji, founder of EcoWise AI:
I’m the founder of EcoWise AI. We are democratising category management in small businesses. Not using data intelligently in small businesses has a huge impact in terms of stock rotation and sales uplift. Large businesses have a lot of tools, but now we’re bringing it to smaller retailers, so they can get the benefit and compete in the same way. We have presented our ideas to win an incredible partnership for a pilot which would have been impossible to do, without the support of the university and the resources with LLMs. The ceiling has increased so much for this technology.

Charlie Swan:
We’ve put out a full working platform in 8 months. That literally just would not have been possible 5 years ago.

David Plumb:
More than any time in humanity, we can actually launch technology in minutes, hours, and days. So, here at the Deep Tech Innovation Centre, we have experts and academics who can help you build really quickly using the AI tools, but at the same time building something that will be secure and scalable.
