Through collaborative R&D funding and networking events, we connect industry and researchers to define the future of CreaTech.

What is Collaborative R&D?

CreaTech supports R&D projects that focus on enhancing business capabilities through market insights, data analysis, and evaluation, while providing access to University of Warwick facilities and resources. We invite industry leaders to express their interest through a simple form, after which the Creative Futures team will reach out to assist businesses in identifying suitable academics or researchers for their projects.

  1. Unlock R&D:

    • This collaborative funding is designed to foster connections between the region’s creative industries and University of Warwick academics. The funding will support 4 projects every year until 2025 to create user cases, prototypes and build connections for partners to seek future funding.
  2. Community Challenge Fund:

    • Through collaboration with experts, industry partners, and local communities. Our Community Challenge Fund supports scalable solutions and fosters social entrepreneurship while enhancing capacity for larger funding bids. Each year, we conduct a pilot project that unites community groups, academics, and industry partners to create impactful change.
  3. Leverage the University of Warwick’s multidisciplinary expertise through:

    • WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group)
    • WBS (Warwick Business School)
    • Computer Science
    • WMS (Warwick Medical School)
    • The Centre for Cultural & Media Policy Studies
    • Plus partnerships to advance the UK’s creative and digital industries.
  4. Access support from our GAIN (Games and Innovation Nexus) programme
