Our Deep Tech Innovation Centre Manager, Joanna Bates, talks about the opportunities for new start-up business
The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has ushered in a new era of technological innovation, with start-ups at the forefront of this transformative wave. The launch of ChatGPT to the general public in November 2022 sparked debate across every sector of society; for the University of Warwick Deep Tech Incubator, it meant a big increase in companies and founders getting in touch to see how we could support them.
Being part of the University of Warwick ecosystem also offers founders the opportunity to tap into some of the skills that the University has to offer. Students from the Department of Computer Science have engaged with the DTIC founders, working with them on short term projects to help develop and refine their technology, and in a couple of cases, going on to take up a role in the company after graduation.
Opportunities to support the next generation of Deep Tech founders
The Deep Tech Innovation Centre is always keen to connect to people and organisations and we are particularly interested in finding companies that may be interested in offering a challenge for our next Deep Tech cohort, or partnering with us to support some of the activities and events we deliver.
