There is an alchemy in this place and the creative industries across Coventry and Warwickshire, and especially in Leamington Spa, show no signs of slowing down.
Growth of the Creative Industries (Createch) is presented as one of eight priorities in the West Midlands Plan for Growth (WMCA, 2022). Incorporating video games, gamification and esports, immersive technologies such as VR / AR, and interactive entertainment; all are growth industries that are predicted to develop exponentially over the next 10 years and go hand in hand with innovation in digital connectivity. Emerging technologies and the applications of these will also impact innovations in the retail, sport, health and manufacturing sectors (UKRI, 2022).

Creative Freelancers

Freelancers are a hugely important and valuable part of Coventry and Warwickshire’s creative eco-system.
Whilst serving as co-chair of CWLEP’s Digital Creative Business Group Clare Green worked to identify ‘freelancer support’ as a priority area for its programme of work to assist with the recovery and growth of the creative sector post-pandemic. More information on the pilot project can be found here.
